Kind of A Funny Story....

So, I've been having issues with tires over the past couple of days. Well, actually for the past week. Ok, lets get a little history behind this before we start. :o) About two and a half months ago, one of my tires went flat. So, for two days I aired it up, until I got my dad to look at it. He was spraying it down, trying to find where the air was leaking out, and he found several spots. The entire side wall of my tire was splitting where it joined at the top. The tire was junk, there was no going back. I was finally forced to buy new tires. (I was putting it off for as long as possible) I rode around on my older brother, Chris's spare for about a month before I finally bought the new ones. They cost me almost $500 dollars. I was so happy to have brand new tires on, and not having to worry about whether or not one of my hanging-onto-the-last-thread-of-life tires were going to blow out on me at any second or not. I once again felt completely safe in my truck, and thought that at least for a while I wouldn't have to worry about tires. I mean, once you get new tires, there's nothing to worry about with them, right? Uh yeah, wrong. My mom had to borrow my truck last weekend to go to Minto to take dad and Chris our big black sled, and hip waiters, so they could float out the ginormous moose that Chris decided to shoot in a swamp. Anyways, I didn't mind mom taking my truck. We didn't really have much choice, since she traded her truck in for a car with smaller payments. Her car is a stick, and tons of fun to drive, except the fact that it's a car. I don't like being so low to the ground, and feeling so tiny. I'm definitely a truck kind of girl. Anyways, getting off the subject here. :o) So mom took my truck out there, and on the way in, down that horrible dirt road, somewhere along the way, a huge rock stuck right into my tire. Needless to say, mom came home with the spare on, and my barely-a-month-old tire, flat, in the back of my truck. Yes, it was sad. So, I called TDS yesterday, the place I bought the tires, and told them what happened, and asked what we could do about it, because my dad said that something like that shouldn't happen to a tire so new. So, you wanna know what the guy said to me? "Well, it's not the tire's fault that the rock went through it." Uh, what? I didn't try to beat the tire to death or anything. Does it have feelings too? Good grief. The things people say sometimes. Really it cracks me up, but come on now. So then he started to tell me about the manufacturer's warranty and what it doesn't cover (rocks, nails, etc.) . Blah blah blah. So he told me to go ahead and bring it in, but at that time, I was seriously doubting that they were going to do much at all. So, I called dad, told him what the guy said, and he said, "Ok, I'll call Dan over there and talk to him about it." Dad works at Aurora Motors, and they do a lot of business with TDS, and Dan is kinda his buddy over there. Anyways, Dad called Dan, Dad called me back, said that Dan said to bring it by and he would see what he could do. (wow, too may D's in that sentence. Kind of confusing :o) ) So, I was telling Rhoni (the lady I work with, who's desk is right behind mine. we get along really good. she's super sweet) about all of this, and she was like, "Oh really? Because Dan is they guy that I'm kind of seeing right now." So, Rhoni called Dan, sweet talked him, and he came over and picked up my tire, killing two birds with one stone, because he got to see Rhoni in the process. Or more like, he was able to pick up my tire in the process of coming to see Rhoni. Either way, I don't really care. :o) He took the tire back to TDS with him, and looked at it. I guess the rock was so big that it wasn't fixable. He had to replace the tire. I originally paid $115 for it, without it being mounted and balanced. (Dad did that part for me) Dan charged me $100.00 this time, and he mounted and balanced it, and replaced the valve stem. Plus, I got free pick-up and delivery. So, yeah, it wasn't all that much off of the original price, but I got a few extras stuffed in there. :o) And my dad told me that they would pay for it, so it's all good. So the moral of the story is: Don't think you're out of the woods as far as tires go, just because they're brand-new, and make sure you have a spare, because something will happen when you least expect it. The night that mom drove out there, we had to move some furniture for Chris and Lauren's cabin, and we were debating taking the tire out, when mom found out she had to go to Minto, and she said, "We'll leave it in there, but I should be good, your tires are brand new." Well, there ya go. :o)

Wow, so this post turned out to be longer than I planed. But I guess that's ok. :o) So, I hope none of you are going through tire issues, because I know it's no fun. :o) Talk to y'all lata! :o)

This and That

Well, I ended up going to the doctor last Thursday, and they pretty much told me I had a cold. Yeah, because I totally didn't know that BEFORE I went to the doctor. :o) Oh well, at least it wasn't bronchitis. They gave me some nose-spray sniffy stuff, and a prescription for some Allegra-D. Then I baby-sat on Friday night, and the kids' mom, Eleanore gave me some vitamins, that I have been taking twice a day. Two vitamin C, one Zinc, and one Vitamin E. I feel like a drug addict in the mornings, because I have to take the four vitamin pills, the one Allegra-D, and the nose sniffy stuff. It's kinda funny. I only have one more Vitamin C pill that I'll take tonight, then it'll just be the Allegra-D, and the sniffy stuff (also known as Rhinocort). I'm feeling A LOT better than I was, so that's good. I just have this cough left over, and still a bit of a runny nose. Hopefully that will all go away soon. For a while, I felt so horrible, that it felt like I was never going to feel better again. :o) Of course that's not the case, but when your body is so drained, from being so sick, you certainly feel that way.

Anyways, my weekend went pretty good. I baby-sat on Friday night, and Emily came with me, then we went over to Michelle's house and hung out with her and Jenni for a while. We ended up spending the night, and I got up, and went to work the next morning. Yup, I worked on Saturday. It wasn't all that bad, since I kind of volunteered to do it. We had a cooking demonstration in our display kitchen, and Rhoni (a lady I work with) asked if I could come in and help. It was good, because I was able to make up some of my time I took off on Monday, without using too many of my sick hours, so I still have some if I need them again. We are having another cooking demonstration the Saturday after next, and I'll probably offer to work that one too. I enjoyed it. I love cooking things. I would love to take a few classes at the TVC campus, but can't afford it right now. Maybe one day after I get married or something. :o)

Ok, well it's late, and my laundry in the dryer is probably done, so I better go. Catch you guys later. :o)

Ok, here are the pictures I promised. :o)

Silly little girl...
She had just woke up here. She was in a really good mood.
I know I look horrible. ;o) It was morning time. Not my best. Taylor looks cute no matter what though. :o)

My Weekend

Well, my weekend with Taylor went pretty good. I had her since Thursday night. She went over to the Toziers on Thursday. I ended up leaving work early on Thursday because I have this horrible cold. So, I went and picked up the little Tater Tot, and we went home, and just hung out for the rest of the day. I tried to clean up the house some, but I felt so bad, that I didn't really get a whole lot done. If I had known how bad I would feel a couple days later, I would have thought that I felt great at the time.

Taylor slept really good for me all weekend. she slept in her own bed, (she normally sleeps with Chris and Lauren) and I never got up with her in the night. On Friday, she slept until 10:00. That was really nice. :o) So, on Friday, we didn't do a whole lot either. Tried some more to straighten up a little, but she ended up just going behind me and messing up everything I had just cleaned. Little stinker. That's what they do I guess. :o) We ended up going into town in the afternoon. I was already planning on going into town, to take her to work, to meet some people, but then my mom called, and they were in town with boat problems, and she needed me to bring her some stuff, so I guess it's good that I was already planning on going. It's tough on the gas tank to run back and forth too much. So, I took mom the stuff they need. And then we went to my work, so I could show Tay off. Everyone loved her. She was runnin around upstairs being a little goof ball. She had a lolly pop, so that was pretty much all she cared about. A word to the wise: giving a 15 month old a lolly pop makes them extremely slobbery!!! :o) I didn't mind though, it's just a little messy. :o) They all thought that it was so cute that she could say "more please" and "thank-you" in sign language. She also learned how to say "bear" this weekend. Not in sign language, but verbally. It's so cute. After we got done showin off for the girls at work, I had to go pick mom up, while dad worked on his truck, and we went over to Chris and Lauren's cabin, to get Chris's moose permit that he forgot (genius). Then after that, Tay and I went home, and shortly after that, mom and dad came home for the night.

Taylor woke up at about 8:00 on Saturday, and I never even heard her cry in the middle of the night. (I put her pack-n-play in Lucas's room, right next to mine). Mom went in there and got her, giving me a little extra time to sleep. That was nice. Mom brought her in to me at 9:00, so she could go outside and help dad work on the boat. They left a little while later, after fixing the boat, then came back down the driveway 2 seconds after they left, and dropped the boat back off. Mom came in to inform me that they were going to borrow somebody else's boat (a guy that my dad used to work with) because they had finally gotten a hold of him at the last minute. So, all the work on the boat for nothin' but oh well. :o) I'm glad that they borrowed someone else's because that thing still wasn't running right when they went to leave. So, then mom and dad finally, after all the hustle and bustle made it back off safely to Minto. Taylor and I had to go into town a little while later to pick up some chicken feed. I needed two different kinds, and naturally, they were out of one. So I got the one they had in stock, and we headed back home. She did awesome when I put her to bed that night. Normally, I will take her in the room, with the lights off, and show her bottle to her, then put it in her bed, and rock her for a few seconds, then lay her in her bed, and sing to her for a few minutes, then walk out. And whenever I walk out, she always cries. Then I just let her cry for a few minutes, and she goes to sleep. Well, Saturday night when I walked out, she didn't even cry. I was like, "Yessssss!!!" :o) It was pretty cool. and whenever she cries in the middle of the night, I don't go in there, and she just cries for a couple of minutes, then goes back to sleep, but if you get up with her, then she's awake forever and she cries even harder.

Sunday, we got up and went to church, then came home, and I fixed some lunch, and put her down for a nap, and I was FINALLY able to get some real cleaning done. I cleared out the whole arctic entry-way, and I swept and mopped it, and the landing, and the stairs. It looked great by the time I was done, and I was reasonably happy with it. I also cleaned the living room pretty good, and got things straightened up on the table and stuff. Then Tay woke up, and I wasn't able to get much else done. We went back to church, then came home, and ate some dinner. She was walking around the living room and she kept whining, so I asked her if she wanted to go night-night, and she was like, "yah, yah". It's so cute when she does that, because she whispers. Anyways, I went and did our little routine, and when I went to rock her in my arms, she started whining again, so I pointed to her bed, and I said, "Do you want in your bed?" and she was like, "yah, yah." So, I put her in there, and walked out, and for the second night in a row, she didn't cry. I was so excited. :o) I went to bed shortly after that too.

On Monday, Taylor was supposed to go over to the Toziers again, while I went to work, but I ended up calling in sick. I decided that I would still take her over there if Miss Dawn didn't mind, because Cadence was talking to Johnny on Sunday, and she was like, "Did you know that Taylor gets to come over to OUR house tomorrow, and WE get to babysit her?" She was all excited about it, and I didn't want to disappoint her. I called, and Dawn said that was fine, so I took Taylor over there after she woke up, and she was so excited to go play with Cadence. It was SO cute. And it was really helpful for her to be over there, because I was able to get the kitchen cleaned. So it all worked out quite well. I went and picked her up at 4:00, and then we headed over to the Denton's so I could babysit my regular kids for a while. Taylor had a blast over there. She was pretty tired by the time we left. I put her to bed as soon as we got home, and tried to stay up until everyone got home. I gave up at 12:30. Then they all came home at 1:00.

So, anyways, there's a playback of every second of my weekend. :o) I took a few pictures of Taylor that I will try to post later. I actually learned a lot about taking care of babies this weekend, not that I've never watched a baby, but I have learned that my babies will NEVER sleep with me. So, a word to all you future mothers, don't let your babies sleep with you. I'm not kidding. You'll end up with a 15 month old that you can't get to sleep on their own, and it's really frustrating. :o) I know she did really good for me this weekend, but I watched her last Monday, while Chris and Lauren moved into a new place, and it was horrible trying to put her down to bed, and she ended up sleeping with me, because my dad wouldn't let her just cry for a few minutes. When I first put her down, she was crying, and he went in there and got her!!! I was like, "Uhh...It's not going to kill her to cry." And really, it won't. :o)

Today is Wednesday, and I feel worse than ever with my cold. I went to bed last night at 6:00 and didn't wake up till 7:00 this morning. I got 13 hours of sleep. I guess my body was pretty worn out. To be honest, I feel like I could do it all over again, but we have church tonight, so that's not going to happen. :o) People at work think I have bronchitis. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I can't take any more time off, because I don't have any more sick time, and I just can't afford to lose the pay right now, so I guess I'll just have to suck it up, and move ahead. :o)

Well, there you have it. Now that I've killed you all with the boredom of it all, I'll go. :o) Talk to you guys later!!!

La Ti Da

Well, It's Wednesday, and mom, dad, Lucas and Tyler all headed out to Minto today to go moose hunting. Chris and Lauren are headed out tomorrow, then it'll be me and the little Tater Tot (Taylor). :o) I'm looking forward to spending some time together, just the two of us. Everyone should be back on Saturday or Sunday. So, I've got her for at least two days. I think it'll be fun. I'll try to remember to take some pictures, and I can post them. :o)

Then, when everyone gets back, it'll be time to process moose. Oh joy. :o) No, I'm going to try to help this year. I didn't really have to last year, because Chris and Lauren had just got up here, and Lauren wanted to help (crazy girl) so I just had to watch the baby (BUMMER). ;o) But anyways, I'm going to tell mom and dad that I will help with the moose this year. We always end up staying up super late doing it, but I think I can sacrifice a little sleep to help out around here. :o) Hey, maybe I will take some pictures of that too, so I can prove that I actually did it! Since, I'm sure that some of you wouldn't believe me if I only said that I did it. Yep, I'll have to have the pictures to prove it. :o) Well, I'll see what I can do anyhow.

Other than that, not a whole lot is going on. Fall is definitely here. The leaves are changing more every day. I'm kind of looking forward to winter, but dreading it at the same time. I want to go snowboarding so bad, and I'm ready for things to slow down. But then again, I'm not particularly ready for fifty degrees below zero either! :o) I always manage to survive somehow or another though. I'm sure this year will be no different.

Anyways, I know how much you all LOVE hearing me ramble on and on forever about NOTHING, but I'm afraid I must go. I need to unload the dishwasher, take a shower, and get my happy little butt in bed! So, good night for now, and talk to y'all later! :o)

A Night Of Fun

Well, last night I went over to Jenni and Emily's house to hang out with them, and they invited their cousin Shannon over, and one of their other friends Katy, and Michelle too. We all had a blast, just hangin out being girls. :o) Their parents, and Brian were out hunting, and Deanna was over at a friend's, so it was just us girls and Aubree. I've got some pictures of it all on here for you guys. The ones that are kind of dark are when Emily, Shannon, Michelle and I went on a walk. Michelle was afraid of moose and bears being out there, but it was really funny. We had a good time. :o)

A New Addition To My Face

Well, most of you already know, but for those of you who are out of state, I got glasses. Yup, Kassandra has glasses. :o) I like them anyhow. I was having problems with my eyes (obviously) and they were bothering me really bad, and I was going to wait until I got my truck paid off (2 more payments to go!!!) to go to the eye doctor, because I wasn't sure that I could afford it, but finally, they were bugging me so bad, that I decided that I couldn't wait two more months. So, I went to the eye doctor, and apparently I'm FAR-sighted. :o) So, my glasses are mainly for when I'm reading, or when I'm working on the computer and stuff. I can't really see anything very far away with them on, it gets kind of blurry. Anyways, my eyes feel a lot better now, so that's really nice. :o) So, now you all know: Kassandra has glasses. :o) Ok, I'm shuttin up now about my defective eyes. Talk to you guys later! :o)

Setting Up

Well, I have discovered that the initial set-up of this silly thing is a pain in the butt! But that's ok, I shall get through it. I will be glad when it is over though.

I hopefully get to go hang out with my neice, Taylor this afternoon. Man, I love that kid. She's a ton of fun. :o) I'll have pictures of her on here soon enough...if I can figure out how to finish getting everything else set up.

Well, talk to you guys later. :o) Sorry to bore you out of your minds! :o)
