Announcing The Arrival Of...

Logan James Ryan. :o)

Our sweet baby boy was born on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 1:13 am, by emergency C-Section. We are both doing great, recovery from the surgery isn't as bad as I would have expected, just have to stay on top of my pain meds and it's all good. :o) We came home from the hospital on Saturday, and Mike has the rest of this week off. Things are wonderful and we could not be more in love with our baby boy. :o)

Birth story coming soon. Here's some pictures of my handsome little man. :o)

He's the best daddy ever. He's so good with him. I've fallen in love with him all over again these past several days. I'm blessed beyond belief. :o)

41 Weeks Pregnant, and Labor :o)

So I turned 41 Weeks today. :o) Here's my picture for this week. It's the last one of my weekly journey. :o)

Anyways, we're in the hospital right now, and I'm in labor. :o) Mary-Beth (the nurse-midwife at the clinic I've been going to) is doing my delivery since my Dr is out of town, and I'm SO happy about that. :o) She checked me just a little bit ago (at about 8 pm) and I'm dilated to a 5 already! :o) I was dilated to about a 3 this afternoon, so I'm making pretty good progress.

Labor isn't really horrific at this point. The contractions are coming about every 3 minutes, and are painful but definitely manageable. We'll see how things go as the night progresses.

Anyways, we should have a baby tomorrow sometime! :o)

Photoshop Elements

So I have Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements, and have been wanting to play around with them for quite some time, but they are quite intimidating (kinda like my fancy camera that I had to have). Well, I was super bored tonight and decided to give it a whirl. One of my favorite bloggers has done several tutorials on photography, and a couple have included editing photos in Elements. So, I pulled up her blog, and just went at it. :o) It turned out to be quite easy, once I figured out how to do a couple things (the version she has of Photoshop Elements is a tad bit different than mine), and really wasn't so scary after all. ;o)

I took a few pictures of old farm buildings while we were in Nebraska back in August for this exact purpose. So, here's how it turned out. :o)

Here's my first attempt. Not too bad... looks a little "sun faded" huh? :o)


And here's the second attempt. :o) I think I like this one a bit better. It's not so washed out. I used a different textured layer for this one than I did on the first one.

Anyways, it was fun doing these, and definitely not as hard as I thought it would be, so maybe you'll be seeing more edited photography from me in the future. ;o)

40 Weeks Pregnant

Well folks, today, February 9th, 2010 is my due date. Craziness. I am offcially 40 weeks pregnant. What's it like, being 40 weeks pregnant? Well, here's what it looks like:





And what does it feel like? Well... it's uncomfortable, to say the least. ;o) Doing the most simple of things is completely exhausting, such as the dishes, or walking up a flight of stairs. Sleeping is just ridiculous. It hurts incredibly bad to turn over, which I have to do A LOT, or else my hips start hurting from puttin so much pressure on one side or the other.


But through all the aches and pains, I feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant. I have enjoyed the experience thouroughly. It has been a healthy and uneventful pregnancy, and for that I am continually thankful. :o)


The Lord has really blessed me in this, and I can't wait to meet this little person that he has been creating inside of me. What an awesome concept!


As much as I have enjoyed being pregnant, I am definitely looking forward to having my body "back", and enjoying my little man from the outside. :o) So, I sit and wait for labor to begin. I know it's going to be painful, and in no way fun, but I'm excited, and looking forward to it all. Hopefully very soon I will have pictures of my baby to show you. :o)

38 Week Belly

So, as usual all the pictures I took looked dumb, but this one shows off the belly the best. ;o) This is my 38 week picture. I will be 40 weeks on Tuesday. If I make it that long. I'm praying I don't. ;o) Ready to meet my baby boy, but I'm sure he's got an agenda of his own. ;o)

Baby Swag, Part 1: Clothes

Ok, so I have a MILLION pictures of all the baby stuff I have so far. Everything I got at my baby shower, and a few things I have accumulated myself. Anyways, since there are so many pictures I decided to do them in smaller segments. So here's the first part. All the clothes. :o) I got all of these from my shower. :o) I counted all the onesies, and I have 46! Wow, that's a lot of onesies. :o) Anyways, here ya go.

Blogger roated this, and I don't know why. The middle sleeper has horses on the footsies. So cute! :o)

LOVE this one. :o) I'm planning on bringing him home in it. :o)

Little baby socks. SO cute. :o)
